If your home is always a mess, and you can't find things, then perhaps you're even more determined than ever to keep things tidy.
Here's how you can achieve it.
1. Although it might sound obvious, put things away when you're not using them. It's very easy to have several things on the go at once, or get sidetracked, or leave them until later. By doing them now, they're done, and you can get on with whatever else you need to do.
2. It's a good idea to wash up straight after your meals, so that you don't have dishes lying around all day. You'll also know that your favourite cup is clean, and that there are enough clean plates for your next meal.
3. You'll want to encourage your children to put one thing away before moving onto the next thing too. By getting your children into this habit, they are more likely to stay tidy and organised too.
4. By regularly vacuuming and dusting, at least once a week, you'll know that your floors and surfaces are relatively clean at all times.
5. If you encourage your children to keep their rooms tidy, so that they can find what they need, it will help them prepare for later in life when they need to be able to do homework in several subjects per night. There won't be any lost books, or suddenly remembering that a piece of homework needs doing at the last minute.
6. If you tidy up spills as they happen, you won't leave it for later, or expect someone else to do it. if you make a mess, or see a mess, then it's a good idea to clean it up.
7. If you're untidy, because you have too much stuff, then why not have a regular clear out of the things that you don't want or need anymore? You could donate your unwanted items to charity shops, and help others as well as keeping your home tidy.
8. If you have young children, and they are using something that might spill or stain, such as paints, or drinks then you'll want to make sure that you put down protective table and floor coverings. You won't want your nice table, or floor to get covered in paint.
9. If you're struggling for space, why not see if you can rearrange your furniture or rooms so that you can make the most of your available space? With a bit of planning and careful thought, you could create m more space and make your rooms more usable.
10. What about additional storage boxes, shelves, cupboards, or box files, to help you stay organised and tidy? You might be untidy because you don't have places to put things. Why not see how much tidier you could become?
Now you know how you can keep you home tidy, what's stopping you from being organised?
